Restoring the Brawler Identity
Brawler has always been one of the most aggressive melee classes in Ran.
Close combat.
Relentless pressure.
Explosive combo chains.
But over time, one issue became clear in real PvP and PvE combat.
Brawlers could start strong engagements, but they often struggled to sustain themselves during extended fights.
Players often described the experience like this:
“I jump in, deal damage… and then I get focused and melt.”
This update focuses on solving that exact problem.
Our goal was simple:
Allow Brawler to remain dangerous in prolonged combat through controlled sustain.
The Core Problem
Brawler already has powerful engagement tools.
- Multiple high-pressure melee skills
- Strong AoE combat potential
- Reliable engagement abilities
However, the class lacked one important mechanic.
Consistent sustain during combat.
Once Brawlers committed to a fight, they often had no way to recover HP while maintaining pressure.
This meant extended engagements often favored opponents with stronger sustain tools.
Our Design Philosophy
This balance pass focuses on giving Brawler a clear gameplay identity.
A sustained frontline bruiser.
Instead of dramatically increasing burst damage, the update introduces controlled Life Steal across several combat skills.
This allows Brawlers to recover HP while actively dealing damage.
Additional bonuses such as movement speed and damage amplification help the class maintain pressure once it commits to combat.
Skill Changes Explained
Dance of the Warrior — Entry Sustain
- Added Steal Hp: 5% → 10% at Master Level
Dance of the Warrior now provides a light sustain window during combat.
This allows Brawler to recover small amounts of HP while applying pressure.
Multiple Groundbreaker — Damage Momentum
- Added Steal Hp: 15% at Master Level
- Added Amplify (Melee + Magic)
- Up to 16% Critical Hit Chance
- Up to 8% Damage Gain
This skill now strengthens Brawler’s mid-combat pressure.
Life Steal helps sustain HP while Amplify increases overall damage potential.
Rays Cyclone — Critical Pressure
- Added Steal Hp: 15% at Master Level
- Added Critical Hit Chance: 30% at Master Level
Rays Cyclone now supports aggressive damage rotations.
The added critical chance increases burst potential while Life Steal allows HP recovery during attacks.
Cartwheel Tornado — Pressure Mobility
- Added Steal Hp: 18% at Master Level
- Added Amplify: 15% Critical Chance / 8% Damage Gain
- Added Moving Speed: 15% at Master Level
- Now applies Prohibit Using Potion.
This skill now provides a strong pressure window.
Life Steal supports sustain while movement speed helps Brawler stay engaged with targets.
Dynamite Punch — AoE Sustain
- Added Steal Hp: 5% → 12% at Master Level
- Added Moving Speed: 5% → 12% at Master Level
Dynamite Punch now helps Brawler recover HP while engaging multiple targets.
This improves survivability during large fights.
Swift Pursue — Safe Engage
- Added Moving Speed: 8% → 18% at Master Level
- Added Prevent Abnormal Condition
- Added Special Immune Effect: Screen Toss
Swift Pursue is Brawler’s teleport engage skill.
The added abnormal condition protection blocks status effects during the teleport window, allowing safer engagements.
Additional Sustain Enhancements
- Furious Eagle Claw: Added Steal Hp 5% → 10% (capped due to Skill Seal)
- Dragon Claw: Added Steal Hp 5% → 12%
- Shadow Punch: Added Steal Hp 5% → 12%
- Agility Boost: Added Steal Hp 7% → 15% and Moving Speed 5% → 12%
- Ultimate: Added Steal Hp 7% → 15%
- Fire Blowing: Added Steal Hp 5% → 10% (capped due to existing Stun)
These adjustments ensure sustain is spread across multiple parts of the Brawler toolkit.
This prevents the class from relying on a single skill for survivability.
What This Means for Gameplay
Brawler should now feel significantly more consistent during extended fights.
Before:
- Brawler could deal strong damage but often collapsed under focus fire.
After:
- Brawler can recover HP while maintaining offensive pressure.
This creates a more durable and rewarding frontline combat experience.
The Bigger Balance Picture
This update is part of the ongoing class balance initiative to ensure each class has a clear identity and viable role in combat.
For Brawler, that identity is now clear:
Frontline Bruiser
- sustained melee combat
- high pressure damage
- durability through Life Steal
- strong presence in prolonged fights
A fighter that becomes harder to stop the longer the battle continues.
What We Will Monitor
After deployment we will closely monitor:
- Brawler survivability during PvP fights
- Life Steal effectiveness in large engagements
- Interaction with high burst classes
- Overall frontline balance
Balance is an ongoing process and adjustments will be made carefully if necessary.
