Phase 2: Extreme Balance Update

Unleashing the Chain Suppressor Identity

Extreme has always been one of the fastest and most visually intense classes in Ran.

High-speed combos.
Multi-hit chains.
Relentless skill pressure.

But in real PvP, something was missing.

Extreme players could execute long combos… but the impact often wasn’t enough to secure control or kills.

“I land everything… but they still recover.”

This update addresses that exact issue.

Our goal is clear:
Turn Extreme into a true chain suppressor that controls the fight by denying enemy response.

The Core Problem

Extreme already had strong mechanics:

  • fast multi-hit combos
  • wide skill coverage
  • high execution ceiling
  • constant pressure potential

But it lacked one critical element.

The ability to stop recovery during its chains.

Targets could:

  • heal through potions mid-combo
  • activate defensive skills
  • reapply buffs instantly
  • outlast the full rotation

So even perfect execution often resulted in reset fights.

Our Design Philosophy

We did not increase raw damage.

We did not turn Extreme into a permanent lockdown class.

Instead, we focused on structured control within combos.

Chain Suppressor / Combo Controller

  • apply seals during skill chains
  • strip buffs mid-combo
  • deny healing windows
  • reward execution with sustain

Extreme should win not by burst, but by removing the enemy’s ability to respond.

Skill Changes Explained

Core Chain Pressure Skills
  • Wave Rider – Added Amplify and Blow chance
  • Fire Brust – Added Remove Skill Effect and Amplify
  • Shuriken Blast – Added Skill Seal and Amplify
  • Bloody Wheel – Added Potion Seal and Amplify
  • Aura of Darkred Sun – Added Potion Seal and Amplify

These skills now define Extreme’s offensive chain identity.

They increase damage pressure through Amplify while also introducing:

  • skill denial
  • buff stripping
  • healing disruption

This allows Extreme to build momentum across multiple hits instead of relying on a single burst.

Recovery Denial and Control Layer
  • Crescent – Potion Seal + Move Speed + Life Steal
  • Deadly Curses – Potion Seal + Life Steal
  • Empty Hailing – Potion Seal + Life Steal
  • Vulcanus Arrow – Potion Seal + Life Steal
  • Golden Helices – Potion Seal
  • Back Front Kick – Potion Seal + Life Steal

This layer ensures that once the combo starts, recovery options are limited.

Instead of one anti-heal skill, Extreme now applies distributed potion denial across multiple skills.

This creates consistent pressure rather than a single predictable window.

Sustain and Chain Continuity
  • Ice Piercer – Life Steal + Skill Seal + Remove Effect
  • Puppet – Life Steal + Skill Seal
  • Evocation – Life Steal + Remove Effect
  • Frozen Iceberg – Added Life Steal

Extreme now gains sustain while executing combos.

This is important because the class is constantly exposed during multi-hit chains.

Life Steal allows Extreme to:

  • stay active in fights
  • recover during pressure
  • avoid collapsing after engagement
Control and Disruption Tools
  • Chemical-style disruption equivalent (via kit)
  • Skill Seal across multiple abilities
  • Remove Skill Effect added across chains

This allows Extreme to interfere with enemy setups instead of just reacting.

Self-Buff Improvements
  • Taichi Stream – Reduced cooldown, increased duration
  • Kumora’s Leap – Reduced cooldown, improved duration scaling

These changes improve uptime and reduce downtime between engagements.

Extreme can now maintain pressure more consistently instead of waiting for long cooldown windows.

What This Means for Gameplay

Extreme should now feel more impactful and rewarding when executed correctly.

Before:

  • high execution, low control impact

After:

  • combos deny recovery and reset
  • targets lose access to key defensive tools
  • Extreme sustains through its own pressure

However, this is not permanent control.

  • effects are short
  • timing matters
  • positioning still matters

Extreme rewards precision and sequencing.

The Bigger Balance Picture

This update reinforces Extreme’s intended identity:

Chain Suppressor / Combo Controller

  • continuous pressure
  • denial of recovery
  • multi-hit control flow
  • execution-based impact

Not a burst class.
Not a spam class.

A class that wins by taking away your options step by step.
